Caterham Supersport Championship 2015

An incredible second season for Phil JenkinsCaterham Supersport Championship 2015

From the outset, GASP has been involved with designing the PJ racing brand as well as a complex helmet design to make our driver stand out in the crowd. We are proud to display our own brand alongside others on the car and give a 100% support to this talented up and coming driver for the Caterham Supersport Championship 2016.

The Caterham Supersport is widely regarded as one of the most fun of all the Caterhams to drive. Phil Jenkins enjoyed his second season racing his Caterham amongst some of the most experienced and competitive drivers there are in the Caterham racing series.

The 38 year old from Hertfordshire started the season well with 7 of the fist 8 races all ending with a podium finish. Phil dominated the European round in Zandvoort (Holland) qualifying on Pole Position with more than 2 seconds to spare. The weekend concluded with two wins out of two. One with an astonishing 11 second gap to 2nd place.

Phil headed to Brands Hatch for the 5th race weekend of 7 with a healthy points lead over the remainder of the field. A wheel bearing failure resulted in a DNF (Did Not Finish) result for race one and then a tough drive from the back of the grid for a very wet race 2. This made things very competitive again for the top 5 Drivers. Plenty of points were gained by Phil in the final races and yet more trophies. Overall Phil finished the Championship in 3rd place. An amazing achievement which was celebrated at the Caterham awards dinner in November where he was presented with a none to small trophy.

We wish Phil Jenkins well in his racing for 2016 which is set to include more European fixtures including arguably the best circuit of all, Spa Francorchamps in Belgium, with the ever so famous corner of Eau Rouge. Together with visits to Jerez in Spain, and both Portimao and Estoril in Portugal.

We are always looking out for partners to help get us to the top spot and now with our proven track record of Phil’s ability in his second season shows that anyone looking for exposure should be looking at our sponsorship opportunities for the 2016 season.
